New yarn! Wow, is it soft!
February 28, 2007Today I got into the store to find bags and bags of yarn strewn around our sitting area: the most remarkable color combinations, the softest singles, hand painted merino: Malabrigo merino, from South America. Beautiful solids in colors ranging from subtle to knock ‘em dead bright, variegateds of gorgeous hues. I can’t wait to get my needles into them…but I’ll have to, as I am in the middle of a sweater and four pairs of socks at the moment. It retails for $10.50 for 3.5 oz. Come on in and see it! Contact us to order it.
In addition, we continue to work on handspun yarn: Sue is spinning up some beautifully soft jacob from her lovely little VeeAnn. She has just finished spinning up VeeAnn’s mom’s fleece, Vanessa. Tom is spinning up some Icelandic from his “Miss Badger”. I am spinning up some of Romney James’ yearling fleece, a charcoal grey. We are in the middle of rearranging one section of the store, to “house” all the handspun yarn, most in lots large enough to make a sweater, though also available by the skein.
And Mary has designed a child’s hat, printed up the pattern, and along with other of our own patterns, is now for sale in the store.
Later today, I am going to post photos of as much of this stuff as I can and upload (is that the term?) them onto the blog. Watch for them!
